Company / Project Overview
The Toni and Guy brand is globally recognised as a high-end hair salon with a focus on fashion, fine detail and the latest trends. They were about to embark on relocating the salon to a new premise and were hoping for a quick and smooth transition with minimal disruption and downtime. The brand is synonymous with quality and the latest trends, Jack cliff Electrical were given the task to design the power and lighting features to reflect the expectations of such a high-end luxury brand as well as the customers with a keen eye for detail.
Why were we chosen?
Jack Cliff Electrical was given this project due to our expertise, vast knowledge and passion for delivering over and above all our client’s expectations while keeping an eye on the budget. We had previously completed a cost-saving project with this client in their old salon by replacing their old high energy using halogen lights with cost-effective LED lights, and the client was able to see real tangible savings on their electricity bills.
What was installed?
We started this project with the decommissioning of the new site to allow for the safe demolition of the internal walls and ceilings etc. We really shone through with this project and made the lightings an absolute feature of the salon, we chose top-quality power and lighting products and ensured low energy LED lights were used throughout. Additionally, we ensured all display and product shelving was well illuminated and that all lighting was able to be controlled to the desired lighting levels for all staff and clients.
Main features included:
- LED shelve lighting
- Large central glass chandelier
- LED strip uplighting to illuminate the ceiling and showcase the ornate Italian style coffered ceiling.
- LED/fibre optic stargazer ceiling
- We located these above the reclining washbasins, so when the clients are laid back having their hair washed, they can feel relaxed looking at the stars.
- We mapped out the constellation of the northern hemisphere to reflect the Toni & Guy origins of Italy.
As Jack Cliff Electrical had never completed a stargazer ceiling before, we underestimated how long it would take to drill and wire the thousands of holes in the ceiling to complete this project. Fortunately, the whole jack cliff electrical team were on board with this project and one particular night that we were on site until 4.30 am hand wiring each individual fibre optic strand through its allocated hole.
The completed project was completed on time and within budget, and the client was very happy with the end result.
