Company / Project Overview
Jack Cliff Electrical was first approached by Major Training Yatala, a locally owned Gold Coast training facility with over 20 years experience in upskilling workers in many fields back in August 2018, as the registered training organisation had very large and rapidly rising electricity bills.
Why were we chosen?
Jack Cliff Electrical was able to advise, design and install a 100kw solar system with 90kw maximum export to Energex’s grid supply.
What was installed?
Commercial Installation using 303 x 330w panels with 4 x 25kw Fronius inverters.
Project Challenge
As we were dealing with a large commercial solar system the Energex authorisation process takes longer than for a residential system which is usually approved within 24 hours. In our experience, the commercial approvals can take anything from 6 weeks through to 6 months, and often depends on the size of the proposed system.
The Outcome
Finally, we were able to complete the project in January 2019, making use of Major cranes for the 303 panels! And whilst on-site replaced their current high energy 450W highbay lights to 120W LED highbays. Not only did this ensure a brighter, clearer light as they are more efficient but they also save around 75% in energy costs.
Jack Cliff Electrical was able to reduce Major Training’s electricity bill from an average of $2800/month to an average of $600/month and will see a return on investment within just 4 years, ensuring our customer will no longer need to worry about the rising costs of electricity.
The reduced power bills ensured a happy customer and also us some great friends – thank you Matt & Alex Tenkate, Director & CEO of Major Training.
